'Tis the season for heavy holiday meals and more cakes and cookies than Santa can fit into his sleigh.  Here's a unique alternative to dessert this holiday season that is both super easy and unexpected, a boozy float of apple cider, whiskey and ice cream.  This recipe comes from the ever delicious Red Maple at our sister property The Chequit on Shelter Island and can even become a fun interactive event at the end of dinner with everyone making their own.




2 oz.          Jameson Irish Whiskey

1 oz.           Sour Apple Schnapps

2 oz.          Hot Apple Cider

1 scoop      Vanilla Ice Cream (we like Talenti Tahitian Vanilla Gelato)


Cinnamon for Garnish


Pour whiskey and schnapps into an Irish Coffee mug then add hot cider, top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and garnish with a dash of cinnamon, serve immediately.
